O2 Sensors throwing codes
Alright!
A small introduction before I dive into my issue: New member here, bought myself an Alpine White E92 about a month ago. So far I'm extremely happy with how it rides and feels! Its a 2009 mod, DCT, black interior with the "stitched carbon fibre" trims and carbon splitter, boot lip + diffusor. So after driving it for a while the lovely CEL lit up, and I got a few codes regarding the O2 sensors and A/F mixture. I used both Carly and Bluedriver to read out codes. Carly: 0027C6 Lambda probe adaption trimming control Bank 1 00273A Oxygen Sensor Vibration test to Kat Bank 1 00277C Lambda probe diagnosis trimming control Bank 1 Bluedriver: P2097 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich Bank 1 P2271 O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich Bank 1 Sensor 2 I have changed all four O2 sensors and air filter after consulting with a mechanic at my local BMW, but i still keep getting the CEL. Also did the adaption reset and code reset at a dealer but no luck. While I visited my exhaust guy to look at some new goodies he noticed a small exhaust leak close to sensor 2 (post cat) on bank 1. If I'm not mistaken it runs rich on bank 1 but could the leak introduce some "false air" that causes the codes and CEL? Sidenote: I also experience a whistling sound that some others on the forum found to be a small air leak/crack in the plenum. Thanks -J |

replace your exhaust gasket if you haven't already..
the whistle in the plenum isn't a crack, there is a seal on the side were the secondary air pump goes. the seal is inside the plenum and is most likely slightly loose thus air is passing thru creating that whistle noise.
