E93 M3 at auctioned at Pickles Perth

Hi,
Did any of you attend Pickles Perth salvage auction earlier this week, to see how much the grey-brown wrapped E93 M3 sold for?

It was a stolen - recovered vehicle, with 'repairable writeoff' status, (No visible damage)

Cheers,

Would make a nice donor car for engine/DCT

Some interesting facts, it's got SA plates with Exp: 11/02/2020 and it's silver underneath, so not sure why they wrapped it in a similar colour unless it has issues with paint or something.

Hi,
Being a recovered salvage vehicle, the buyer is fully taking over any problems with the vehicle at the time of the sale. Some times the auction issues a condition report, but I don't think this one had one, and some times the sales description contains 'runs and drives', but not sure if it had that written either. (Still with small print that seller or auction house has no responsibility)

When that is said, it looks like a good deal to potentially get an M3 with S65 and DCT for about $20k, plus repairs and inspection fees etc. The mileage wasn't so high, so a rod bearing replacement may be all this one needed. On the other hand you don't know how the 'drive like it is stolen' thief has been looking after it.

You wonder if the the thief used wrapping to change the color, or if it was already wrapped before it disappeared. Pickles sold a stolen recovered Porsche Boxter recently also that had quite roughly done color change (Raptor bed liner spray job..)

If it got referred for $17.5k and still up for auction next week then whoever owns it wanted much higher. Wouldn't be worth it for more than 20-25k due to high risk, kms and its history. E.g. what's a currently registered SA m3 doing in auction in WA? Was it stolen from sa and driven here? Or owner moved here and it got stolen soon after? Or it got stolen in sa and got put on a truck to be auctioned here because SA don't allow repairable write-offs to be registered like nsw?

At least it's VIN show all recalls have been done lol
