New Rod Bearings question (scuff marks)

Picked up some new BE rod bearings, is it normal for new BE bearings to be scuffed up? Every single one is marked up....I have included some pics.

Perhaps the scuff marks are caused by the binning process BE employs.

That is my understanding. They measure every shell so there will be some markings.

Cheers,

Normal. Its from measuring the bearings.

Each bearing is measured individually.

I wonder how many bearings are disqualified from that measuring, and then disposed.

I forget the exact number but IIRC very few are actually out of spec so bad they get thrown out. With the binning process, the sets are pretty much perfect regardless of their tolerance.

Cheers,
