For anyone that has driven the new 40i vs 35i with MPPK

How would you compare them 2...?

Have a 40i loaner the last 2 days and this thing BLOWS the doors off my 35i... Just wondering if adding the MPPK would put them in the same realm...

I REALLY want an M but it’s not feasible at this time but I could live with the power in the 40i until I can get an M...

If you stack Racechip and XLR on top of MPPk , you will blow the stock 40i. You can get a RCU for around $250 used. Newer version will be more expensive.

We have a BMW x5 40i in the family and every time i drive the x5 and then drive my X6 35i right after, my X6 feels way slooower. Im also looking around to match the power on the 40i but still didn't come to a final decision.

bmw quoted time is 0-60 is 5.6 for f15 with mppk. for g05 it’s listed as 5.3.

the two are close. maybe u wouldn’t notice a difference in everyday driving.

I don't know what the MPPK costs in the US, but the RaceChip GTS Black would put you at around 380 hp (40i is 335 hp iirc), that will keep you more than happy until you can get an M
I've had one for about a year on my 35i and removed it for a service at the dealer, I honestly was shocked at how lethargic the car felt without it - needless to say it went back in immediately after the service!

What’s involved with the installation of this upgrade...?

It was very noticeable to me even in everyday driving... there was a bit more of foot involved as it was a loaner but it was noticeable immediately...

Adding a mppk alone won't mimic a 40i G05. I had both mppk/mpe also driven a friends G05 40i and even in comfort mode the 40i felt more responsive than my 35i mppk/mpe in sports mode it was quite noticeable but Im sure some factors play in as my car had 55k+ miles and his just passed the break in period.

35i has 295 lb-ft, 40i has 332 lb-ft, 35i with GTS Black has 368 lb-ft

Hmm, is it worth moving from the RS to the GTS?

Couldn't tell you I'm afraid, I have had no personal experience with the RS but I'm sure some one else on here will chime in! I can say how noticable the difference is between stock and the GTS Black, and I would recommend it to anyone with a 35i.
A plus point for those that do not already know, if you switch to another car/engine in the future, if it is supported by RaceChip then you can ship it back to them and for a fee (€100, not sure about US prices) they will reprogram it for your new car...

Just get Bm3 or MHD stage 1, without any modifications you will blow off that 40i out of the way.

Its way cleaner to install/take off than RaceChip, you just need a cable and laptop/phone. Also the power delivery will be much better than RC for sure. Hope that helps!

I’d put my F15 35i up against the G05 40i any day. I’ve had a G05 40i as a loaner and definitely noticed that it’s quicker than a stock 35i but we already knew that based off of the numbers above.
If you’re considering a F15 35i and want more pep, either get the RC GTS Black w/XLR and/or MPPK, or BM3.

Or, just get the F85 and have what you “REALLY want.”
Cheers!

Never heard of her.

I previously used the RC Ultimate and upgraded to the GTS Black, well worth it.

If you’re considering an upgrade, I say go for it and unload the RS on here to offset the new one.

Yeah I'm on the fence. Not sure if it's a big enough upgrade power and torque wise

That or jump to BM3...it’s on my consideration list.

Lol that was my next option as well. From what I can tell that gives you a pretty substantial boost.
