OT: S65 rod bearing failure cure?

My racing buddy, inventor, mechanical engineer has developed a possible cure for the rod bearing issue on the S65. His research has identified two problems. You cannot fix only one, you must solve both. Problem 1 is the BMW bearing itself (it’s too round), clevite has solved this problem. Problem 2 is oil starvation at the bearing. The stock oil pump does not provide enough oil Volume (not oil pressure) above 4500 rpms. Mike has developed a modification of the oil pump gears too solve this issue. Stay tuned for product availability. The first few production oil pump gears are just rolling off his CNC machine now.

Be sure to click on Mike’s eng. report if you’re a tech nerd. Won’t be nearly as bad as when I saw his white board in his office with all sorts of advanced mathematics problems on it.

This is very interesting - Would recommend posting this to the e9x forum for better visibility. I'm very interested in tracking this should it prove to provide the requisite oil pressure at high RPM especially for FI S65s.

Thank you for posting!

Yeah I'll post it E9X areas once he gets more gears produced. Also, I don't want him to get inundated until he finishes my dirt bike's suspension.
