Added too much oil
I'm trying to figure this out because I know it can vary by capacity and we have a lot of oil. My dealer accidentally gave me an extra liter. I only noticed this when cleaning the bottles up. I didn't look and now my oil is reading above max. I know we normally take 9 liters so I have an entire extra one in there. Is this going to be harmful in my case or am I okay?

My issue is that I'm two hours from home and have absolutely no way of doing anything at the moment or tomorrow morning until I'm back. I know too much oil can cause damage, but typically when driven for how long? I haven't had the car past 3500 rpm's since I changed it.

I've done it before and took a a few days to remove it but I know how much I put in. Chances are you'll be fine but any signs of boggy throttle or funny noises I'd pull over

I'm sure people will come on and say I'm stupid for this, but I think for now I have to drive it. At least I know exactly how much is in there and I let it drain overnight when I drained it. There are exactly 10 liters.

Oh I thought you said the dealer changed it. Might burn it off by the time you get home 😂. Keep resetting your bc.. it might change its mind.

Drive it for now, try not to be too hard on it. later drain the front sump. That will take out about 1.5 L. Then get a reading and gently top up, not more the 1/4 L at a time if needed. If the reading is normal, call it good. Make sure you check the reading on idrive (if you have it) and on the turn stalk.
