Another Stroker build thread

Greetings all,

For some unfortunate luck my engine siezed up while driving back home. Have about 60K km on the odometer no engine modifications other than an exhaust with a catless x pipe.

I'm looking for a stroker kit that can be used as daily driver and also for the occasional track day. It's been a while since I've checked the forums and also have searched for stroker kits and there are many vendors that provide them but all seem to be old threads and not so much recent info if there have been better or. improved kits than a couple of years back. I would like to know owners feedback and also which companies are offering stroker kits now as Dinan and others dont show them on their websites. Looking for a stroker kit and also with the additional I would like to add cams as well. There are many variants 4.4, 4.6 and 4.7 so would like to know some feedback that are running these kits or is it possible to get bmw 4.4 kit for the GTS ?

Also regarding tuning can it be done through OBD as any bolt on m3 as well ?

Thanks
Yousif

Hi Yousif

I have a stroker, you can see the build thread in my signature

If you PM your phone number we can talk over whatsapp

Yes, you can tune the stroker over OBDII without issues.

Just a follow up contacted a couple of shops but either they arent working on e92 m3 or with the corona virus issue not responding. Any insights regarding where to source the parts with proven track record of their kits is much appreciated.

Thanks
Yousif

I would absolutely go with a CarBahn (dinan) stroker kit.

Still searching and even after contacting CarBahn multiple times no replies. Thinking of going to stick to OEM build if the aftermarket support isnt there. Probably contacting Turner or if theres any BMW OEM vendors that you may recommend.

Carbanh is pretty much OEM as you can get.

Steve Dinan cars were sold at BMW dealerships in North America and retained factory warranty.

Yo'u're pretty safe with Carbahn. They were the ones building the P65 for BMW Motorsport and had an R&D budget for that engine of like 400k. No one knows the S65 nearly as well

I'm aware of that wish they were offering close to the service levels that they did back then. Trying to get a reply back from them for close to a month now and after multiple emails and calls.

COVID19 has hit everyone pretty badly. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't open during these times. Be patient, Carbanh is worth the wait.

Interesting you haven't got through to them. I'd honestly wait to hear from them. They are as oem as you can get, really.
