BPM tune files

Does anyone know if the tune files are locked to a specific car's VIN or is it just the coding cable hardware that's locked to the VIN?

No not at all. I had an old stage 1 file with cold start delete from a previous m3 car I've owned. I bought many tunes and files from them don't worry I'm not trying to scam them lol I was just curious if the file would work or its locked to the car.

Happy to buy another file if it doesn't work

Why dont you email them and ask? If you are a customer that has bought several tunes, they'll either let you know or may even make the small change and send you the new file you need.

BPM codes the cable/dongle to the VIN. I reached out to them when my first m3 was totalled. I had to re-purchase the tune and they remotely reprogrammed by dongle/cable to work with the new VIN, same tune file was used.


Yes, i received a discount for re-using the existing hardware, and Mike was very helpful as always getting the tune into the new m3. But again, its not going to be free, this is a business they are running.

Good to hear that. Ya their service has always been amazing, hence why I bought multiple products from them. I was just curious as I remembered having one file with cold start delete as the only difference. I'll see what they say via email.
