54217120217 - $2,738.40 http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...&siteid=214672 Shipping is $250~$300. Tischer used to sell it for like $2k until BMWNA raised the MSRP on the hardtops (and many other parts).

IMHO, that is way too much to spend on a hardtop. Obviously thats what it costs for most roadsters, but thats like the price of almost all the mods I'm planning on doing (all together). Why do you want it so bad?

oh btw, thanks a lot gp20 for finding the part number. i really can't be spending this much on a hardtop, but i can't stand to have my soft top endure another NJ winter.

It will be - there weren't many sold to begin with, and the people that sell them never want to ship the damn things. If I'd gotten an M Roadster instead of my coupe, I'd definitely have gotten a hardtop this time.

I don't understand why they can't just make a replacement with a functional lift back for the z4. It would be nice if they had a hard top similar to the s2k's.
http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/me...y_Code=HARDTOP Here's some pics i found surfing too. It would be sweet if this was available for the z4. |

I've seen those S2K hardtops before and they actually kinda look like the Z4M coupe. There's also the hardtop for the Boxster that makes it look like a Cayman.
I like my OEM hardtop from the back and from the side, not so much from the front & front 3/4 though. I was selling it a while ago but couldn't get any serious offer. I'm glad I ended up keeping it and putting it back on my M. The hardtop really makes a huge difference blocking out the road noises, and it's nice not having to worry about the softop being exposed to rain/snow. If somebody makes a CF hardtop with a couple of changes to fix the OEM styling I'll buy it in a heart beat.

Correct, but it would be nice to get a carbon fiber top for the non-coupes. I did some research and we would need at least 10 to 15 people to be interested (serious) and we would also need a hard top that will not be returned for that same company to make it. Price will be anywhere from $1.5k to $2.5K (estimate given).

I was thinking about that myself. There's an aftermarket top for the Boxster that emulates the lines of the Cayman, even converting the car to a hatchback (you remove the real trunk lid for install). Something like that for the Z4 Roadster would be cool. Here's a couple of pictures:

HardTop Question?
New to this thread and forum. Who/what is Tischer? I am looking for a 2006 Silver Gray Metallic hardtop for my Z4 M. Any thoughts on how I can obtain one?
TIA

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...30&hg=54&fg=15 Tischer - $2738: www.getbmwparts.com North Heaven - $2568: www.bmwpartzdirect.com North Heaven is usually cheaper. The last time I talked to them they charge $250~$300 for the shipping. You will need to get the hardtop mounting kit as well if you didn't order your M with the hardtop prep option.
