I was happy because I thought I fixed my oil filter housing leak... fast forward 2 weeks and I'm just doing weekly checks, and boom... I see a small puddle of very thin oil... either brake fluid or something similar? Definitely not engine oil, or coolant...

I removed that liner and it just leads to nowhere..

Anyone have ideas where to start?

All input appreciated.. thank you

No brake job nor any hard driving!

No brake fluid light or any warning lights either.. very strange... I wonder if it's from the brake master cylinder

It seems to be puddling where the bolt is(red square)

It is leaking near the subframe area(red circle)

That's the first thing I did and it just led up to no where... I took out the air box and noticed a wet streak.. it's possibly from the power steering

Hard to tell in the photos.. but I'll take off the plate tomorrow morning and we'll see..

Thanks everyone for your input

Tried looking all over the web for o-ring part numbers, you happen to know them?

looks like you are going to have to remove them carefully, then do some leg work to match them up. try to see if you can find a place that rebuilds them for more info

I believe it's the actual rack itself

I changed the 2 o-rings in the valves without taking the rack off.. and unfortunately it's still leaking

I may just order the new rack from rackdoctor..

Lmao... I've done it all.. just never messed with steering... it shouldn't be too hard of a task.. at least I'll know that peace of mind Having a new rack, along with the other maintenance I've done..

Successfully removed leaky steering rack

Wasn't so hard I was stressing it to be... took me about an hour and a half of taking my time.. no harsh mess.. easily came out..

Now to pack it up, and ship it to rackdoctor...

If anyone is hesitant of doing this, it is not as hard as it is...

I think I have a similar problem. How much did it cost to fix? Did they say what went wrong?
