Trunk/Bumper Picture Request
Hi all! I had my rear bumper resprayed because of some dents/scrapes. However, once I got the car back, I noticed that there is a large gap between the top edge of the bumper and the bottom rubber seal from the trunk when the trunk is open. Can anyone provide some close-up pictures of the area between the top of the bumper and the trunk? I can't tell if I'm just seeing things, but the body shop guys told me that's just the way the bumper sits, but I don't remember a gap that large.
Thanks! |

Not mine but you get the idea: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7021/...bba2a79d_b.jpg
They probably slipped the bumper cover incorrectly under the plastic tabs that sit behind it. |

Is the gasket missing, or maybe just installed incorrectly? If you remove two screws from the plastic trim inside the trunk as well as two plastic rivets (use a trim removal tool, those are stiff), you can remove that black plastic piece and pull the gasket up to look for any issues.

Just got my car back and the bumper is looking more aligned. There's still a gap between the bumper and the rubber gasket on the trunk. I'm attaching two images. Honestly, I just don't really remember there being a gap, but it's in such a weird location that I may not have noticed. Can someone take a look and let me know if your bumper also has a gap in the same location?

Between my bumper the weather stripping, I see le mans blue paint. Yours looks to me like a corrugated white plastic?

I think the pictures make it look white. It's a ribbed portion of the bottom of the weather stripping. Are you able to see bumps like that on the bottom side of the weather stripping?
