I'm back!

It's been a very long 8 years since I sold my old 2008 e92 M3 but I'm happy to say I'm back! Picked up a 2013 e92 with 6MT (only 21k miles too!) today! . Hoping to see some OG members on here again!

Welcome back. Did you sell the F82? What made you return to the E9x platform and what are the comparisons between the two cars? Beside the power of course.

Yes details are required upon returning to he E9x platform. Its in the fine print

You take cruise line stocks as form of payment?

Well I've had a very eclectic series of cars over the past 8 years. Traded in my e92 for an X5 because I needed a family hauler. Then got a Fiat 500 Abarth as a fun car and kept the X5 as a daily. But then the X5 kept having major issues every month so I traded it in for an F82 and used the Abarth as a daily. I liked the F82 at first and did a full build on it (coilovers, BBK, exhaust, monoball bearings, etc.). It handled well and was a nice car but I couldn't get over the artificial steering feel and terrible exhaust (tried 7 different set ups/burble tunes to try and rectify it). You'd think I'd trade in the F82 for an E92 but I actually traded it in for a Tesla Model X (perhaps I was scarred by terrible exhaust notes so I subconsciously bought a car without an exhaust?) and kept the Abarth as a fun car. I found myself happy with this Tesla daily/abarth fun car set up for a few months but then the Abarth started to fall apart (it was nearing 90k miles and we all know that's like 500k in Fiat miles) so I traded it in for my current e92 (kept Tesla as a daily.) Now here I am full circle!

I had very specific requirements when looking for my fun car and the e92 checked all the boxes. It had to be naturally aspirated (high revving a plus), coupe, good handling, manual, and have a good enthusiast/DIY community. Other contenders I looked at was the Mustang GT350, Corvette C7 Grand Sport, Audi R8, and 911 GT3.

Just ran into a guy on the way to work yesterday who looked to have a nice F80 M3, he pulled alongside, we both lowered our windows (going maybe 20 mph in traffic) and I said, "Nice car!"
His reply back to me, "I hate it! Traded my E92 in for this." Then explained it's just not the same driving experience.

I guess OP is not alone in his feelings for the later generation M3, M4.

This..."I couldn't get over the artificial steering feel and terrible exhaust" exactly why I wanted out of my f80. I do miss it's looks.
