Anyone in NYC Lowered? I need opinion

Really hate the big freaking monster truck gap on my M4..

I'm really considering dropping the car with M Performance HAS and run on maybe 15fr-18r Spacer, 12fr-15r, maybe even a 15-20??? Just bought the 15 installing to see what I like

Now I don't want to drop the car for 1 main reason potholes in NYC or whatever..

Thoughts? Anyone have HAS in the city how is the driving? trying to see if its worth it

Also, while I'm at it anyone experience with a 15-18 with HAS any rubbing?

I am slammed on ED springs with 275/295 with 10mm all around. potholes hurt and rub in the front. I am going to go back to stock tire sizes soon which will probably get rid of the rub. it would be nice to be stock and drive peacefully and not cringing for every pothole; but life it a bunch of tradeoffs.

since you are going HAS you can find the height that best suits you

I'm in NYC on MPHAS, lowest setting.

Not running any spacers. But ride quality is a 10/10 no regrets. No jaunting "hits" from the potholes either. EDC makes a huge difference.

I do scrape a lot but the LW lip is able to take the beating. Also have a Turner metal oil cooler plate just in case.

I can't even tell the difference. You guys spend real money on "dropping" the car to ground?

Some people like to bag their cars and 'drop it to the ground'

Others just prefer a subtle drop, which is much more noticeable in person

Lastly there are those who just love to leave miserable comments on forums unrelated to the topic because... miserable prick?

Hahaha
I did a very subtle drop so it looks even all around the wheel well. Natural look?
Dropped 18mm up front and 10 in the rear. Super happy with it and made me really like my wheels more to the point of where I’ll keep them instead of changing them. Might drop it like a few mm up front and rear next change to winters.

Honestly the look I am going for but poke out the wheels with spacers.. but the question is more of the rubbing and hitting potholes in the city... that's more of a concern for me... (Of course this depends on driving styles) but my point is it very annoying to drive and how often to scrape? (also understand that by dropping you have to sacrifice this but I am gaging whether it is worth it or not.

Some people can say this about having an M4..
"people spend real money on luxury sports cars when you're not even suppose t go the speed limit" lmaooo

But yes you can actually notice the fitment of the cars... its the tiny details that set you apart..

No regrets here even though there is the inconvenience at times. If stock comfort is a 10/10, MPHAS is a 8/10 on comfort and maybe a 6/10 on sport plus on those nasty moon surface looking roads if that makes sense

I'm in same boat as you (leaning towards KW DDC). I'm more worried about speed bumps and steep driveways though. In nyc the speed bumps are 3" or even 4" when near school zones. I don't have a front lip.

Yeah man! Having a fast car and a lowered car just doesn't work in NYC.. It used to be cool but idk maybe I'm getting older and not feeling like slowing down and drive sideways on those bumps anymore.. lol

I had a Lotus Elise in NYC and hated it. Unnecessary suffering with potholes, calling cops attention, front plate tix, etc. In general, there is little need to drive in Manhattan or the other boroughs and...London-style congestion charge is coming.

Since I lived in battery park, I realized that I could take the 5min ferry to Jersey City, pay 150 for parking instead of 500, and get out of the city for fun drives very quickly.

My 2c - car wise: avoid NYC at all costs
My 2c - life: live in suburbs , work in Manhattan. If you are youngish, this will sound crazy.
