Can facelift 6 series get apple carplay coded in?
Hey everyone
title pretty much sums up my question. can a facelift 6 series gran coupe get apple carplay coded in (regardless of year) ? I think facelift hit the UK around 2015 think this will pretty much determine which M6 GC I go for thanks in advance Antony |

Carplay did not come to BMW until very late. For the 6 series, I believe the first availability was in 2016, for the 2017 US/NA model year. Facelift was 2016 model year (US), so not all facelift 6s would be capable of Carplay.

My 6 GC LCI is April 2016.
I have recently had ID6 update, Car Play and 2020-2 maps put on. My car already had the WiFi antenna. For cars that don't, the antenna just needs to be installed. I see you say you're in the UK. Check out Bavarian Coding on Facebook and Instagram. Simon can so the retrofit for you including the antenna if needed.

I have an early 2016 id4 system and was told that the software update was not possible. I am installing the hardware solution today.

Software coding is cheaper but that's if the car is able to do the updates etc. I paid £150 to have my updates/upgrade. If I didnt have the wifi antenna, its an extra £50 or so inc installation by 3rd party.

Check out my post and review about the Android screen replacement. Some benefits but it's an average experience at best. You would be better off buying an car play/Android auto interface box. Cheaper option and the integration (from what I've seen) is much better.
