Anyone know of a reputable place that can refinish/powdercoat black 437m wheels properly? Trying to avoid places that will make the machined part of wheel darker than OEM.

Preferably in Bergen County.

Thanks.

That’s not correct. I just had one wheel done by John at crimson wheel repair and it came out as a perfect match.

That's highly debatable. Sounds like you didnt need much work.

I agree - the tinted section of the rim is not easy to replicate. These do not turn out the same. Close but enough for (at least) the owner to see the difference.

If your refinish turned out Ok than it is rare plus it makes me think that it may not have been significant.

Post some pics of before and after. It's hard to match the shadow clear coat.

I'm really more concerned with the machined part of the wheel. Prior owner/dealer had 2 wheels powder coated but the machined/metal part is noticeably darker than original (so I don't get that contrast). The gloss black part of the wheel that was refinished looks good to me.

I guess I need to get CNC machining done on the machined parts? Not sure what I'm getting into.

There's a place called Silverstar Alloy Wheel Repair in Maywood, NJ that seems to get good reviews..

When wheel are redone is the tinted section generally darker or lighter than OEM?

Mine was lighter. The OEM has a darker graphite type finish and the wheel that was redone turned out darkish silver.

Typically they cant even match the pattern of the oem diamond cut, or the exact clear coat tint.

Powder coating the black area is easy enough for anyone to match
