Post Halogen Bulb to LED Bulb Struggles on 2013 128i Base Coupe

So I thought I'd try one of these new fun super bright canbus error free LED bulbs, only to discover that there's clamps that are restrictive and won't clamp over the massive fans on the back of the LED bulbs. I read somewhere about unscrewing the fans, but the whole piece is machined together, aka fan isn't removable. Are there any hacks or workarounds or am I just stuck with plan old halogen, or upgrading the entire headlight assembly?

Used Lasfit brand for led low beams and led fog lights on 09 128i with no issues at all. You shouldn't buy these without specifying the brand or make of the car when you buy them since they have different ports to plug in the lights. Can always get Carly to code out the lights otherwise you will see a temporary code pop up then go away (still full usability on the headlights).

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked out their site and entered in halogen capsule lamps. The offerings both look like they still have substantial fan housing on the rear. My issue is that I can't get the little metal spring clamps to lock back in around anything. Because of the nature of the H7 fitment, it doesn't "lock in", it just kind of rests in place and relies on the spring clamp to hold it fast. Otherwise I'd just rely on the twist locking.

Other ideas? Or am I missing something obvious.

Got them installed during my regular mechanic visit. You can do one of two things have a mechanic install them or bend/twist it in place but purchase additional brackets beforehand in case you bent it too much (no need to buy beforehand if you can drive without headlights for a few days).

Are you able to pull the bracket out and snap a few photos from different angles to show how it was bent to accommodate the larger fan housing on the back of the bulb? I tried bending mine a bit but still couldn't get it to lock the bulb into place.

I had a local BMW Coding specialist fix my canbus error when I switched from halogen to led.

Update: I've ordered some adapter brackets/retainer clips for the LED conversion that snap on to the bulb housing and click in to the lenses.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q7XMHC6

I'll try and snap some photos during and after install when they arrive later this week.
