Sunroof made a loud bang

I was opening my sunroof on my 2016 x5 today, and it sounded like someone dropped a large rock on the glass. It seems to open and close ok but that loud noise concerns me. Has anyone on this forum ever experienced similar thing as this? If so, it would be appreciated if you would reply. Thank you!

Heard this a couple of times as well. I think it is from the seals not being opened and closed for extended periods...thoughts?
