Damaged Grill
Hi, I am looking at buying a 2017 X5 which is generally in great shape but has this damage to the front grill. It is not that noticeable and I can prob live with it but will may want to fix it down the road at some point. What would be involved in replacing this part or is there potentially another fix that a body shop can make does not involve replacing it? Thanks

This is not a grill damage this piece is upper part of the front bumper fascia. I am not a body shop pro but since this is plastic I am not sure how much you can do to fix this.

Like what RED said, not the grill but part of the bumper.
Doesn't look terrible, I probably wouldn't bother with a body shop with something like that. Either live with it or a little bondo/sanding/touch up paint will make it look no worse than a few rock chips, imho. |

I would figure out what it would cost to repair/replace the front bumper, and make that part of your negotiations. You then either pocket that money, or get it repaired. All good.

^^^ this
My first bmw bought used also had a dent in the exact same spot, thought I would not notice it, but ended regretting every time I looked back at the car walking away or to it. This was one of the things I was happy about when I traded it in for a car that was spotless. Do not do it!!!!!! |

Thanks for all of your replies. I think that something can be done to make it look a little better. I don’t want to pass on the car for it since the next car that meets my criteria is $5k more as I need a 3rd row seat so less to pick from. This car has tons of options and other than this is in fantastic shape. I park on the street in Jersey City so I won’t have a perfect car anyway. I was able to get $750 off the car which makes me feel better.

A body shop will be able to fill that and blow in paint without having to repaint the entire bumper
