Increase battery 40e for longer driving range

Hello everyone,
I just bought my first BMW last week
Pics are below. My main coming change is bigger wheels (20 or 21) and add android/carplay.

I took a F15 2015 model 40e with 62k km.
Pack M inside and outside, barely all options which is great.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to increase the battery capacity in order to run the car for 30-40km (vs 20 max now).
The new model does 70km which is great !

Any idea on that topic ?

I didn't know BMWs came with cable TV!

But seriously, my 2018 X5 has over a 400 mile range using $2.46 US gallon gas. Why did you get a hybrid?

He's in Europe. No $2.46 / gallon gasoline there. And highly likely tax benefits by having a hybrid.

Not worth the $$$. Realistically, you'd better getting a separate EV/plug-in for daily driving, and leaving X5 for family trips, towing, etc.

I had a plugin prius for this exact purpose and from the $$ perspective it was the best option.

Thanks guys, I actually love your comment! The point is not money in my case but it is way more ecological. We have one car and need to combine usability, fun and our only planet.

If anyone knows anything on increased battery, I am very interested!

You guys/gals in US are pampered with low gas prices and are lucky to drive gas guzzlers, no power - but with nice sound LOL
........................
Also awaiting some repair shot to offer a battery upgrade,
until now nothing available.
Do not forget - same as with your mobile....- battery gets old, resulting in less capacity/ depending on climate i.e. too hot / too cold battery gets depleted much faster.

Nice ride you got ; I only went up to 20", as 21" with rear 325 is too broad for my car park, maybe you should give this a 2nd thought. (Again; in US spaces in garages, at shopping malls, car wash stations... are much broader than in Europe)

Do like my X5 40e, thank god I got rid of my previous X5 Diesel

Trust me, where they don't get us in high fuel prices, they get us somewhere else. It all evens out.

I think there is a tune you can get to stretch the battery on it.....obviously voids all warranty-related lol

I saw that therewas something for the xdrive45e in the USA. Supposedly increases the electric range from like 30 to 60+. The US model was nerfed a bit from euro spec to begin with, I think the tune removes that battery buffer. So like 5% would be inaccessible vs the 30% or whatever it is for the US 45e.

For the 40e, we don't have access to 20%. If there was a way, we would probably only get 10-15% back and significantly shorten the hybrid battery life... Not sure it's worth it.

So far none has given any realistic answer. As a 2018 x5 40e owner myself, I’m interested to know IF I change out the batteries in the next 2-4 years, will battery technology be available to get me 40-50 miles on a single charge? I know others say just get the diesel - but if I can get 40-50 on a single charge - I may never need to use the ICE engine at all. Let’s then talk about cost savings vs the diesel. Just curious if anyone has heard if the range wouid increase as the 2022 models are getting 40 miles range, or so I’m told.

I can see people figuring out a way to do it. The battery technology has come a long way. There are companies that offer refurbished Toyota Hybrid batteries. I don't see why it is not doable. If they can offer a solution for more distance there will be people interested in it.
