Could my F80 Comp have a tune and me not know it?

So, I bought the car 2nd-hand from the dealership, it's 2018 M3 competition pack, non-CPO.
I generally run the car Sport plus for throttle, comfort for everything else.
I've noticed a few times, when accelerating form stand-still, the car will be suuuuper jerky between 1-3rd gear. Not all the time, but sometimes it's just super crazy. I've heard people say that about these cars before, but generally only people who have had tunes put in their cars - to the best of my knowledge, I have not.
I test drove a couple of competition M3s, and I have to say, when I drove this one, it felt particularly more aggressive and snarly, in a really good way. Even when I started it up for the first time, I turned to the sales rep and asked him if it was stock, as it sounded noticeably different to another M3 comp I had driven the previous day.
So my question is, is it possible for this car to have a tune on it, and for the dealership to not know when they sold it to me? Have you guys experienced this low-gear jerkiness?

Thanks for any help

Use a race timer app, time your 60-120 mph, compare with google data, and report back.

Butt dyno will never tell the whole story.

Will try, thank you. Is there any easier way to tell?
It also burbles like crazy in sport+ mode, which is not a bad thing, I like it, but I didn't think they were supposed to burble *that* much with no tune, but also, I'm new to M cars

I can't speak for other tunes, but probably the quickest way to tell if it's tuned or not with Bootmod3 is to check the sport gauges on iDrive and see if the hp/tq reads more than stock.

It's not a guarantee but it's a start at least.

would the gauges read 480 HP & 480 Trq?

Or 425hp 400 Trq standard car rating?

I believe stock they read up to 480/480 yeah, but to be honest it's been a while and I never used the sports display so I could be remembering wrong.

The jerky throttle response from a stop in sport plus is normal. There's a thread about it buried somewhere in here...

The burbles are definitely a sign of tuning though. Even ZCP f8x don't burble THAT much

if it was traded in to the dealer just ask if they can ask the previous owner.

if tuned I think your cold start cycle will be deleted. not 100% on that though

Dude you're in LA with a ton of F8x find someone and tell them to do a roll with you.

Tuned s55 gap the shit out of stock ones, make sure you guys both have traction off (run it from where you'll both stick, hit it in the same gear etc)

I’ve traded in tuned and modded cars a number of times to a dealer, I’ve always wondered how the next owner felt.

Lots of suspension mods, but also some serious engine / boost mods.

If purchase any M car that was not tuned would be an old fart driver like me or it was tuned , abused and put away wet. These cars are made to be driven so don't worry too much about it. Just enjoy the car as you've seen in the many posts how reliable this cars have come.

Since you bought the car from the dealership then complain about jerkiness and ask them to scan the car

I bought a 2017 CPO last week and I experience the jerkiness in low gears from starts as well. I thought the same thing as you, that it was possibly tuned. It usually happens for me in sport + mode after accelerating slowly off a red light. The M3 starts being very jumpy. After looking all over the forums it seems like it's normal DCT stuff and that I need to adjust how to drive it.

At 2:50 in the video Brian explains how to start off from a stop so it doesn't jerk

You need to be more deliberate and linear with your foot/application of throttle so the car can better guess what your intent is. The slightest fluctuations in your foot's position makes a big difference in sport plus mode.

Just stop running in sport+ mode. I run in efficient at the track, you just move your foot a bit more

I bought my car from a dealer and it had a stage 1 tune.. I didn't even notice until i tryed to flash BM3. But now it makes sense why it had so many burbles for "stock"... ur sport gauges will also read differently

I am thinking it is the other way around.
DCT - Stock - Jerkiness
DCT - Tuned - Much better transmission feel

Nothing to do with a tune, everything to do with your decision to use the most sensitive throttle setting and your ability to manage it at low speeds.
