will dealer lock out from using BM3?
I need to take my x5 in to have the rear springs changed. apparently they're both broken. I am flashed with stage 1 BM3. I also have a warranty through a third party company that is going to cover the repair. Should I flash back to stock before I take it in incase the warranty company will not honor work from a tuned car? and will the BMW dealer lock out my computer from reflashing if I do so?

No idea. I took it in for oil change and when they did the multi point inspection they said they were broken and wouldn't pass inspection the way they are.

You could tell them you don't want any software updates.
Just repair and make sure they note it down. If they do lock it you'll need to bench unlock it. Involves removing the two dmes which isn't too bad but rather not go through that in the first place. |

I think I read in another post that BMW scans all cars now that go in for service. If it's something like rear springs which don't necessarily require a scan it's probably 50/50 if they do it.

That's what I thought I saw too. Or I take it to the local Indy shop in the area. Who probably won't care that it's tuned.
