Exhaust Flap Always Open After MHD Tune Flash

Hello everyone,

Just installed VRSF Cattless DP on my X5 35i M performance package. it sounds great and everything works fine.

Problem I have is that I want Exhaust flap be closed while I'm driving in Regular D mode. But Flap is opened always.

Before I flash MHD Stage it was closed in D before 3500rpm and always opened in DS/M.

Can anyone suggest something how to achieve it?

Regards.

Are you sure your exhaust flap is working normally? MHD will not modify the way the flap works. Theres an option for it to always be open in sport mode ( and I think the sport mode MHD refers to is for the cars that have the Sport button, not just moving the shifter to DS/M mode) but nothing should be forcing it open in its normal drive function.

I have the same car with the same mods and same tune and the exhaust flap is normally closed.

Check to see if it wasn't tied open by the previous owner? A lot of people will zip tie it open for more sound. Either that or see if the vacuum line going to it needs replaced. I'm running the same mhd tune with vrsf downpipe, and mine works fine.

Thanks guys for your replay. Yes it works fine, I removed MHD and it operates perfect. Also with MHD tuned I tried Bimmerlink and try to open and close flap by triggering, it closes and open perfectly. Flap is always open when MHD installed don't know why it didn't work as it should

Maybe reach out to MHD and see what they say. That’s a strange issue to have

Already reached them. Got answered that MHD didn't affect OEM behavior (but I clearly see that my OEM behavior different if I go back to OEM flash) and also they suggest to use remote control for flap to open and close it manually

So today I flash MHD Stage 2 (same tune) just disabled Burble trigger. Now car become quite and flap works perfect. Don't know why my car behave so strange. I wanted to have Burble besides of HP gain but unable to make it work properly. Now I decided to go only with HP gain without Burble not choice I wanted but better than drive car with noice cancellation earbuds 🤷🏼*♂️
