Catalytic Converter Help

Long story short, I took my car a couple of years ago to a sketchy Euro Car shop in NYC, and I'm about 99% sure they stole my catalytic converters. Lesson learned. I didn't notice because I have a tune, and the car passes inspection, and I honestly don't drive it very often, only summer time.

My extended warranty is going to expire, so I want to tidy the car back up, in case I decide to sell it in the future.

Can anyone help me locate the catalytic converters for my 2013 M5?

I'm curious exactly what parts I need for the install, and if there are non oem options that are easier to get a hold of.

Thank you!

The car was 3 times louder and you didn't notice? I doubt it

A lot of people remove their stock cats for cat-less down pipes so you could put up an ad wanting to buy some used cats. There are aftermarket solutions as well. I removed my stock cats and replaced them with higher flowing cats. Fitment was a little bit of an issue so stock replacement would probably be the easiest solution.

Stock cats:

Aftermarket ones I installed:

If you are comfortable removing some parts, you could look to see if your stock cats are still there. This is where they sit:

Good luck

Thank you for the detailed response, I appreciate it. The ones that were taken from my car are the ones under the car, towards the exhaust tips. For the install, could I just replace those specific parts instead of having to fiddle around under the engine bay?

Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about LOL, I just don't want to get ripped off when I take it to my usual garage that has extremely long wait times.

Thanks again!

There are no cats under the car, so I'm not sure why they would have stolen something. Under the car, there are resonators and mufflers. So as long as it passes inspection and sounds OK, I'd just leave it alone.
