Scissor Lift points

Hi all,

When using a scissor lift on the E82 or other bmw models, sometimes the support platform doesn't extend far enough between the jack points.

In this case, how exactly do you lift the car? For example, lifts like these: https://www.herohoists.com.au/scissor.html

What do shops with hoists do? they don't necessarily use jack pads onto the jackpoints do they? if you put hoist points at any other point besides the jack points, wouldn't that deform the body?

The mechanism seems to work on every other car, just wondering how it would be adapted to BMWs. I'm not sure how much plastic sill there is around the jack points.

Thanks
