Is the Z4M......slow
well production has ended. i have enjoyed every minute of this car. its just these days everyone is power hungry. i thought i would never find myself in that boat but i need more power. i went out with a few friends this past weekend and got killed by just about by every car. a R32 gave me a pretty tough job the other day. now i know the Z4M isnt a straight line car but seriously nowadays cars have so much power corner carving doesnt matter. a piggie E39 M5 with 2 passengers totally ripped me from a dig. as the turn came up i carved the inside lane. i got close to him but at turn exit the M5 just rocketed. and this is a previous generation M5. not that it makes my dick bigger if i beat him but i dont like to have a slow "performance" car. maybe i should just pull the trigger on romens SC

Car is about the package man the new M5 isn't half as much fun to drive despite the more power. There are lots of shit car outa there that are faster in a straightline but so wat. The R32 maybe fast but its a shit box inside. Its a over 15 year old car man. If u want ur M to be faster theres always the supercharger route to go so we ve got a very good option waiting for us. In fact Roman is selling his kit right now for 6k why not go for it if u think ur car is slowing down for u. With 400whp u can rape just about anything.

I just keep saying to myself that I will never have the fastest car...the minute you get right with that you can enjoy the car and any performance mod you put to it. The Z4M does plenty very well and is a complete sports car. If you want a little more zip, get gears (4.10).
Seriously, my old Subaru was tuned with big whp and (including M5s) on the road but never once turned heads like my current car. Speed is fairly cheap if that is your primary goal. Having such a well balanced car like the Z4M is a Fvkking bargain. I don't regret owning a slower straight line car. YMMV.

He was talking about old M5. The R32 is slow but the interior is top notch like audi (audi interior quality which means usualy nicer than BMW).

I have both E39 M5 (moddestly modded) and The Z4MC (soon to be VF S/C'ed) both cars have their own characteristics and i enjoy them both...Imho the Z4M have good hp to begin with and overall fun car to drive...If your bored and want more hp power i would go with s/c...

I dunno man, if you wanted a fast straight line car with cornering ability you'd probably have been better off gettin a 'vette.
I know my car isn't the fastest, and with mods that I want, it won't be, cuz I plan on keeping it free breathing, but it's just right in so many ways. Maybe you should get the V10 Z4M.

Want it quicker in those conditions? Change the gearing first, then see if you need more power. Gearing change alone puts the car at the quickness of the new M3 w/MT. Is that enough for you? Would be for me until I address other things like brakes and better rubber.

I could have opted for a used z06 or an new ls3 vette but chose to go with my z4mc for a variety of reasons. i got it at a huge discount new as many of us did so i felt like i was getting a steal. it looks much better inside and out, and is infinitely more exclusive. the uniqueness of a high revving engine in a lightweight car is something that i am attracted to and the next cheapest option is a 997 gt3 (I've driven a 996 gt3 and it has a shockingly bad interior and an unbelievably stiff clutch) And in the end my biggest reason in choosing it over the closest choice for me (z06) was that I aspire to have a car like a gt3 or better one day, and getting a z06 would spoil it since it is so god damn fast LOL

hard to describe, i've driven both. the 335 as fast, but didn't "feel" fast... like too smooth. it was definitely faster than the z4m but the z4m's heavy clutch and sports car feel "felt" faster...

im planning on suspension first and then 3.91 gear ratio. then the SC. I feel like the SC would make the Z4M perfect. and i would be able to keep up with vipers and vettes at the track |

Weather dependent of course, like me. At sub freezing temps at the moment, I forget I even have a bike. Of course, the Z4M is next to it as well, and I forget I have it too with the exception of maybe one short drive per month these days.

My M Coupe feels substantially fast to me. More than enough speed to get into some serious trouble with the law if you're not careful.
I don't feel the need to street race anyone (stopped doing that 5-6 years ago when I was still a dumb teenager). Not to mention they crush your car here if you're caught doing that now. I'd say enjoy your car and don't worry about how fast it is compared to other cars. There will *always* be a faster car on the road, no matter what you have (well, unless you drive a Gumpert Apollo). Not a lot of cars offer a driving experience like this car does. About the only other one I've come across is a Porsche Cayman S, but it's quite a bit more money up here in Canada.

True. It's by no means slow. But you're not gonna get a super-car-like sub 4 second 0-60 without FI.
