2015 X5 Adaptive Headlights Auto Adjustments
Have done some research on this but I can’t find my exact problem.
At what seems to be random times, my headlights with automaticly lower to its lowest position while going down the road (with or without cars around). When they adjust back up after some time they will adjust to their highest setting so it looks as if I have my high beams on. I am not getting any malfunctions in iDrive and they isn’t anything on the lenses of the headlights. Is there some coding (bimmercode?) that I can do to solve this or could they be malfunctioning just not reporting the issue? |

If the high beams are on…you get the blue icon in the cluster…so do you see this icon illuminate when you say “it looks as if high beams are on”?
Are you the original owner? If not, could the previous owner have coded the HBA (high beam assist) to be on by default? If so, then again, the green icon in the cluster (for HBA) would be illuminated. And the option is initiated by pressing the HBA button on the tip of the turn indicator stalk: If you have the HBA option…there’s a video embedded in the iDrive’s owners manual that explains how it works. You can see how to find all the “animated explanations” in the pics below. My 2014 X5 has 15 embedded videos that explains some of the options installed:

I would understand if that was the case, my car is not equipped with HBA, the blue high beam light stay off. When I said as if they were on I meant they adjust up to a very high position. You can see the headlights adjust up or down while driving down the road.

Then I wonder if the VLD (variable light distribution) has been coded back on (again, if you’re not the original owner…a previous owner could have done some coding).
VLD will also adapt the headlights if it has been turned (coded) back on.

In the vehicle information page of BimmerCode, VLD decoding is still present which omits the ability to use those coding features without first removing 8S4.
This is a US spec X5 Open to more ideas if anyone has any |
