My car targets 175F for coolant in Efficient mode
Hello,
Suddenly, I noticed that my car targets 175F for the coolant temperature in all driving modes (not only in sport+). My car is fully stock, coolant, mechanical water pump, coolant thermostat, and radiator are new (OEM). When passing Bimmerlink to read errors, there is no errors and the car "behaves" as always... Any idea of why my car could be fetching a target coolant temperature of 175F instead of 230F for Efficient and Sport modes??? The oil temp is usually around 210-220F. I am reading all temperatures from Bimmerlink App, not from the cluster. Thanks for your help! Last edited by jagus; 08-25-2023 at 12:15 PM.. |

I did some more tests... After some days not driving the car, the coolant target temp stays at 230F, but as soon as I do a strong acceleration, it comes down to 175F and stays there...
All in eco/comfort mode... I understand that under strong acceleration, the car decides to increase the cooling by reducing the target coolant temperature, but I can't guess why it does not come back to normal target (230F) when I am cruising again... |
