STEPTRONIC vs SPORT AUTOMATIC
I was on the BMW site and wandering around the 5 series, and there are two options for automatic, STEPTRONIC automatic and spot automatic transition with shift paddles
You may think this applies to the 5 and not the 1, but i am wondering which of these comes to the 1er, and what is the difference. Origionaly i ought STEP but this list the sport automatic as the one with the paddles :iono: Do they have different shift times or what? will be very appreciated

The automatic on the 135i is a ZF 6-speed, it can be used in manu-magic mode via the gear shift knob or, if optioned correctly it additionally has paddles on the back of the steering wheel (requires ZSP and some extra plinka plinka above and beyond the ZSP for the paddles, IIRC).
I think the 128i also uses the ZF automagic but it uses a Getrag manual instead of the ZF manual. |
