What would you rather have?
With Coral red sport seats would you rather have the power seats for $995, or comfort access and iPod/USB for $900. I sat in the manual sport seats and liked them, but the power seats are so nice. I just need to cut a few corners/options to keep the price down. :iono:

Sports seats are essential but the power aspect is not... I would get CA and Ipod/USB

I have the coral sport seats with no power. Have not missed it once. It took a couple of days to get the seat where I wanted it, but I have not touched a single lever since.

If you're paying for leather ($1450) and power ($1000), why not just spring for the premium package?

comfort over the power seats, but like someone said sport seats are essential.
if you are financing its only like 40 bucks more a month if you get both! thats my outlook, just get both and be really happy with the purchase when you are around 60k CDN taxes in, whats 62k?, IMO |

I haven't sat in/used BMW's 8-way manual seats, so I can't really speak to that.
All I can really say is that I would not buy this car without CA. I'm a gadget geek and that option screams out YOU NEED ME like no other option that's available. That is, hands down, the coolest option available. Also, as a gadget geek, I can't get enough USB ports. Put some in some sneakers and I'll buy it. With the choices you offered, I think I would take the premium package and CA. I don't really listen to music (or own an ipod/PMP/whatever), so I can do without that. The premium package adds bluetooth and bluetooth is cooler than an ipod. |

Thanks people. I was considering the premium pkg, etc. But the price was getting too large for a 135i IMO. I will probably forget about the power seats and just get an Alpine, Coral, gloss black manual with sport, CA, heated seats, iPod/USB, premium hi-fi. That should be enough for $40,400 minus $1,000 = $39,400 minus $7k down. $32,400 plus tax.
Thanks again. |

$3k for premium package - no way for me...
Do it a la carte - CA, ipod/USB, leather, heated seats, sports pack... About the only I regret about the premium package is the integrated garage door opener in the mirror and power folding outside mirrors.

If you're cutting it close to your budget then watch out for the fees. Some dealers are charging a $500 MACO fee in addition to title and doc fees in the $300-$400 range plus sales tax that could be as high as $3500 depending on the tax rate in the county you purchase the car.
My point is... That stuff adds up fast and not everyone considers it when looking at the price of the car. Dan |

I opted to not go CA at the end of the day because my rep told me that you still have to put the key in the slot from time to time to make sure the battery stays charged... I do think it's stupid to have to enter a key and then push a button to start it but running the risk of dead batteries didn't seem like it was worth $500 at the end of the day.
Just something to think about

You do have to put the key in the slot if you want to save the configurations (seat settings, etc.) on the fob, but that only needs to be done once.

Hmm - interesting - oh well I went bmw assist instead of comfort access. I'll get used to the dorky 2 step start up eventually.

I'm springing for the whole enchilada personally but CA is a must IMHO and one of the big things I LOVED about the 135i I test drove was the sports seats, shifter and sport (//M) steering wheel. I'm just cheesed that we get no BMWCCA discount on the 1er currently . In my situation, the GF and I split seat time in each other's cars, so memory is really nice, folding mirrors a bonus for our crappy little one car garage (it's small) and the integrated garage door opener worth it. I have XM radio currently on the Accord and listen to sat radio and my iPod almost exclusively - 6FL and BT are mandatory as far as I'm concerned. PDC is also another "duh" item. I am a terrible parking person so I'll take all the help I can get. Had a G35 rental in California for a couple of weeks and keyless access along with a backup camera were two things I loved.............

I find the heated seats in my current car nice even when it is not cold, say on a long trip to help the back or allowing you to drive with windows and sunroof open maybe 10 degrees cooler than you otherwise would be able to.
