just got back from the dealer! :headbang:

on order, for a September European delivery is:

2008 135i, Alpine White, Coral Red interior, Aluminum trim
Sports Package
Premium Package
Navigation
Ipod/USB



Got it for $1300 under ED MSRP, which is not bad at all (I think). After not driving a BMW for the past 4 years, I'm ready to jump back in the family! :roundel:


couple of comments/ questions:

a) Although I really love the AW/Red combo, they had a BLack/Red Combo in the showroom and it looked just AWESOME! I'm debating about changing the color before it goes into production! LOL

b) When do I get the little packet of info for the European Delivery? once the order is in the system, or when a production number is assigned?

c) is it really worth it to get it delivered at the BMW performance center in Spartanburg? just curious.


I'll probably get flamed for this, but I already have the mod list ready to roll:
1) Dinan Chip (if they ever fix this issue with BMW and the v81 DME warranty
stuff)
2) Iforged 19's, with 225/35, 255/30 R19 Michelin Pilots
3) KW V1 coilovers
4) Carbon Fiber Spoiler
5) Carbon Fiber Front Spliter
6) Possible Quad Exhaust

Great color combo choice, this is my 2nd choice.

What's your 3 dates?
You should be getting a welcome ED packet anywhere from a few days after the order goes into the system, to almost a full month after ordering. Mine took 3 weeks.

my salesperson just took all my paperwork, and told me they were gonna try to put it thru the system this afternoon if possible.

who knows what the dates are.

Your CA is supposed to ask you 3 possible dates of your choosing to take delivery, then he'll submit it to ED and they'll respond confirming one of those 3 dates.

yep...she called me last nite asking for the 3 dates.

I told her end of aug, beginning of september or late september.

I got my prod# same day I placed my order and I told my sales guy my 3 dates then. In less than 2 weeks I think, he got one of the 3 days confirmed.

I ended up changing the delivery date pushing it back 2 more weeks, so all in all it took 18 days to confirm.

btw, my coworker said it took him 10 weeks to get his car back to the US from the time he dropped off in munich....is that normal?! I thought it was like 4 weeks! :iono:

well geez! FINALLY it was put onto the order status.

anyone know when I get my build date?

You're doing European Delivery in Sept right? You're not gonna get a confirmed production date till sometime in July/August.

I was told Week 30 Production which is 3rd week of July, but it sounds too early since the car takes 7 days to complete production and if they did it then, it would just sit in a warehouse till I pick it up 1.5mo later.

Well the welcome packet comes at random, i got mine almost a month after ordering and getting a prod#.

I think 1-2mo prior to picking up, you're supposed to go back to the dealer to fill out the actual purchase order to the factory and at that point, no more corrections can be made to the car (color choices/options etc.) and shortly after that you should get the gumby clock confirming your ED date and time.

I got my ED date and time directly from an e-mail that was sent to my CA but I think in June or July, we gotta do the purchase order.

If you do somehow get ED on 9/18 - let me know and I'll meet you at the Welt.

THANK GOD!!!! just got an email that it has been confirmed for September 10th pickup!

dealer wants me to come in this friday, with passport and all, and sign the papers!!!
