Smaller people and Sport Package Questions
 I've driven the Steptronic 135 with Sport Pkg and the Steptronic 128 without Sport Pkg. Being only 5'-4" and having fairly small hands, the M sport steering wheel felt too large in my hands. Further, the Sport seats thigh support would never be used by me because my legs bend in a shorter seated position.
So........ Is the Sport Package (in the 135, Steptronic) worth: *Paddle Shifters *Increased side bolsters? Smaller peeps, tell me what you think? I can only go down and look/drive the cars so many times without being a waste of their time (as I'm not purchasing the car from my local dealer). I'm finalizing my order tomorrow. |

my fiance seemed to quite like the M steering wheel, as well as the bolsters; it took her a while to adjust to an optimal seating position though. She's about your height. Paddle shifters are fun.
Have you tried adjusting the seats so your legs aren't bent so much (seats are tilt-able), that way you can still make good use of the thigh extensions, because that is what my fiance did during our test drive; she found the thigh support extremely comfortable.

not sure if i m too late but i m 5'0" and got the sport package with the M steering wheel and I LOVE IT.
yes my hands are too small for it but it feels so nice and cushioned. i do have a little trouble shifting the paddle shifter since my fingers are shorter (thumb won't reach that far) everyone who has sat in my car and touched the steering wheel has fallen in love with it. |

For a guy I have short fingers (quite stubby too). It does seem a big large, but I love the feel and I'm sure I'll get used to it. This is on the 128i sport wheel however.

I haven't driven a 1-series with a manual tranny. I pretty much decided against it already.
I drove the 135 step trans with sport package again yesterday. The steering wheel is definitely large but I'm sure I would get used to it. I actually had trouble getting comfy in the sport seats. I think somebody had messed with all the settings previously. Perhaps if I spent some time setting it for myself it would be different. I then drove a 335xi. This also had the sport package (but not the M Wheel). To be honest, it was more comfortable and they are the same seats, right? So far....I would say I'm not getting the Sport Package. Silly details I guess for a wonderful car. Thanks for your input. I think it's a win/win situation. |
