13.803@100.01 @ Bandimere (6200' ASL)
I ran last night at Bandimere speedway. The track was slick because it was sprinking off and on most of the night and the track was cold. The track is at 6,200 ft above sea level.
My car is 100% stock (~1680 miles) and had just over 3/4 tank of pump (91 octane) gas. I have a steptronic 135i w/ sports and premium. My fastest timeslip reads: R/T: .374 60': 2.105 330: 5.827 1/8: 8.918 MPH: 78.61 1000: 11.561 1/4: 13.803 MPH: 100.01 My fastest MPH run of the night was my slowest 1/4 time. All of my runs were 13.8X except 1 where I had TC on (oops), one where I spun out the entire 1st gear and some of 2nd and another that I just simply ran a 13.9 that run. My slowest run (fastest trap speed thanks to massive wheelspin) reads: R/T: .426 60' 2.368 330 6.197 1/8 9.307 MPH 80.98 1000 11.972 1/4 14.216 MPH 102.68 For all you timeslip nerds like me that like to graph and analyze this stuff... enjoy. I ran 11 times. Averaging all of my timeslips after removing the fastest and the slowest runs (to remove "flukes") I got: 13.910 Once the weather gets better out here and I can run on a dry and warm track I'd like to see how much these numbers change. |

Very impressive. With the correction factor for the altitude...that is around a 12.9-13.0. Very, very nice.

That is a very fast time at Bandimere. Even with the cool weather ( which helps a lot) Your corrected time would be in the high 12s. You will be surprised how much slower the times are with warmer temperatures .

I doubt 12's stock. I don't lose that much from altitude like a naturally aspirated would. Most people at Bandi that are boosted like us notice about 1/2 second change going to lower altitude which would put me in the 13.3 range. I think I'm right on par w/ other stock 135's to be honest.

You are right about the Boosted motor doing better at altitude. I ran my Mustang Gt up there my best was 14.68 @94 mph. that corrected to 13.0 @ 104 mph @ sea level. Still High 13s with poor traction is very good.

Turbos are pretty effecient at altitude.
Wait till you put it on a dyno and SAE correct it...your numbers will be sky high. Turbos here in Denver tend to fall somewhere between uncorrected and SAE corrected on a dyno. |

I haven't seen any of us around out in public yet. When I got my car on April 2nd I was told that there were probably only 4 of us around and I might be the only Black w/ red interior one. I hope to see you around!! (Maybe I WILL dyno it just for fun. BIZALL: Yes... 13.99 and below you need a helmet, 14.00 apparently is safe enough to run w/o one :iono: |

I am still waiting on mine....probably July.
My stock 07 Cooper S (turbo) dynos at 200 wheel hp and 238 ft/lbs SAE corrected just for reference. At sealevel they come in at 165-170 whp/195-200 ftlbs. range. I will dyno my 135i when I get it...I always like to have a stock baseline. |

Won't have my baby then, but within a week or so I will. I'm planning a trip to PMP on June 6th though...the more, the merrier.

My friend w/ his modded little M3 is going up there with me. over time I think it would be cool if several of us could arrange a meetup at a track to represent the 1's!
Unfortunately, I may not be able to make a meetup past June since I plan on moving to Virginia. |

I wouldn't mind trying to head up that way before you leave. How much is it at Bandimere anyway?

More 13.8's :-(
I can't launch it... it was 80 degrees last night which didn't help... but the track was nice and hot. I was getting a ton of traction and just couldn't stick the launch. I only ran 4 times last night. I think 13.8's is all I can get out of it. I know I am the limiting factor because 13.803 is just too close to a 13.7. I know if I didn't suck as bad it'd be better. |

At least you're consistent. Have you tried dropping the pressure in the rears at all?
