Is there a cargo net available?
I noticed some tie-down or bungie points in the trunk, but no net. Does anyone know if there is a 3rd party one that will fit nicely? I looked at the BMW accessories, but I didn't see anything there.
Thanks. |

That thing is OK, but not really what I'm looking for. I'd like to have a net back there as well. Right now I'm using a bungie cord to keep my tool bag from sliding around. It would be nice to have something to keep smaller items under control. |

Mine came with a net that's perfect for "smaller items". But you're probably talking about the full length of the trunk?

I don't believe an official BMW net is out yet but you can buy generic cargo nets in several sizes that will fit anything. The trick is finding the right size.

Yeah. I've got the small one over on the right hand side as well. I'd like to have something like that, but larger, either at the back of the trunk, or up against the seat backs. I'm sure there's something out there that will do the trick, but I haven't spent much time looking for it.

Same here, I am looking for a net to fit across the entire trunk. Not the small one for the side. I will take a look around and see if I can find something the right size for it. Maybe a larger motorcycle net will fit.

Cargo Net
My wife has our 128i out at the moment, so I can't post a picture of the 1-series net. It is similar to the one in our 325xi though (picture attached). Your BMW deraler should have them in stock.

There are 2 anchor points at the back of the trunk, the two further into the trunk are not on the US spec cars. At some point I will get the time to take apart the trunk and see if the anchors can be retrofitted.

I noticed that when I got the car. I had seen the Euro manual and it showed them, and then I didn't have them at all. I was planning on using them to strap my tools down, and had to use the ones in the back instead. |

I have the convertible and I have 2 anchor points in front and 2 in the back. I can easily use a 4 point cargo net (if one exists).

Here are pics of the tie down hooks in my trunk and the dimensions. Dan is not aware of a cargo net for the 1-er. Maybe the 3-series net will fit. Can someone with a 3-series please measure the tie downs?

I have the same net as what's in the 3 series pic above in my 1er hatch. The net is stretchy all round so will happily fit almost any BMW boot. When I got the storage net I picked it from the Original BMW Accessories 2005 catalogue for he 1 series. I recently picked up the 2007 catalogue and the net was still there.
It's officially called "Luggage compartment floor net". Sorry no part no, but I'm sure I've seen it on www.realoem.com

Is there an aftermarket version of this net? $70 seems a bit expensive for a bungy net
For all who is intereseted here is a PDF of 1 series accesories http://www.bmw135i.net/PDF/BMW-Accessories-1Series.pdf

I don't think I have the front tie-downs either.
