Faint whirring sound.............

When I'm sitting in the car and everything is off I can hear a very faint whirring sound coming from the ProNav CD/DVD drive area. I thought it might have been the motor spinning the nav DVD or CD but the sound is still there after I've ejected the disks.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It may be the small fan used by the interior temperature sensor of the climate control system.

It does sound like a small fan. Thing is...is it supposed to run all the time?

Don't worry about it, until the car goes into sleep mode things will buzz, wurr and click as sensors take measurements, I have heard the water pump going a good 1/2 hour after locking the car.

Is there a cooling fan for the electronics or maybe a small hard drive is part of the system????
