135i Turbo Timner

Hello, I am new to this site but I did do a serch prior to posting this question. Has anyone on here completed a turbo timer install on the 135i yet?

I currently have the current installs and believe a turbo timer would be a good idea:
Split second turbo tuner
AFE intake
Ultimate Racing down pipes
Ultimate racing blow off valve kit (HKS Limited Valve)

Thanks for any help......

Turbo Tuner is the most popular piggyback on the board and hundreds of people have it installed

It is just not needed on a 135i. BMW built one in.

You guys are confused.

Turbo Tuner= Is the tune which many people have.

Turbo Timer= Is the computer we used to use to keep the car running to cool the turbos. Had these on my old turbo cars in highschool.

We dont need a Turbo Timer since coolant is circulated even after the car is off to cool the turbos.

It's still a good idea to drive with a light foot for the last few miles of your trip since the oil flow through the turbos is off when you turn the engine off.

I also would be curious to see if anyone has added a carburetor to their 135i?

Just kidding - but yeah, you don't need it and won't benefit from upgrading it. If you're itching for more power, I'd suggest an Exhaust system or lighter wheels/tires (runflats are heavy and create a lot of unsprung weight!)

I appriciate your coments but a turbo timer in no way gives you more power. It is used to cool down your turbos after you turn off your vehicle.. It is a safety device... Just wanted to make sure you knew....

The oil sits in the turbo and breaks down in the hot bearings when you turn the car off, due to the high heat, that's what turbo timers help prevent, idles the car for a set time when you get out. I always take the last mile easy so the turbo has a chance to cool off.

Does anyone have a link to the parts diagram that shows the electric water pump that continues to run after the car is off?

You can clearly hear the pump after the car is off with the hood up. It's an alternating buzzing sound.

I believe Greddy or HKS has harnesses availabke for our cars to work with a turbo timer.
