I thought the active autowerks (AA) was just a development of the xede (Chiptorque). Andrew - do you have any thoughts on this?

The guys who use the AA seem very happy.

We previously used xede on the 335's but it was limited in what it could do so Active Autowerke moved on to the Active Processor.

I can't quite remember all the detail and i can't find the explanation, but it went something like this, comparing a crt tv to a plasma, more detail on a larger picture allowed for better viewing and also in the processor more detail wa achieved as the maps were a lot bigger you could get more detail in the maps that were to be adjusted (something like that). Also the uploading of new maps is way easier as the processor has a USB interface, the processor is cheaper to make and therefore resale is cheaper as well.....That's all i can remember sorry if it doesn't answer you question fully. Xede was a great product that we used succesfully on the 335i's for a few years. The low down torque was stronger than we see in the MSD 81 cars of today.
