Performance Monaco Blue/Lemon Photoshoot
Purchased a few upgrades from Dan the past couple of weeks and finally mounted them all: BMW CF spoiler (painted), BMW Performance wheels, BMW Performance rotors. Thanks Dan. Great service!
Washed the car in the garage with Optimum's No Rinse. For apartment dwellers like me, this is the perfect alternative. The secret is to never get the 1er too dirty by giving it a wash weekly/bi-weekly. It now takes me about 30 minutes to do a complete wash. 2 wash mittens, 2 water buckets, 2 microfiber towels. Now, the time consuming part: Zaino'ed with Z2 w/ ZFX -> Z5 -> Z6 -> Z8. It's sparkles even more in person. Enjoy. Edit: Now wash with regular car shampoo. Optimum's No Rinse procedure seems to be making swirls marks.

The pain comes from the darn brake dust! These wheels are so much harder to clean especially if you're gonna do it by hand without a hose. Next time I'll just take it to a self-service car wash to hose it down. BTW Matthew, you know of any self-service car wash in Irving?
I also noticed these wheels magnify the fender gap. With stock wheels, it wasn't something I noticed. Now, dropping it is something I'm re-considering. I was hoping rotors stand out more at a distance. You really have to be close up to see it. And damn the stock rotors are heavy!

re. noticing rotors... You shouldn't worry. IMHO, there are two schools of thought here... If you want people a mile away to notice your brakes, go the Boxster S or 911 route with hot rod red calipers that shriek, "Yo, bowser, check out the brakes!" However, folks who really know something about cars will absolutely notice and appreciate your rotors as-is. I imagine that's the type of audience that matters most anyway. Then again, you're in the enviable position of owning a car that's chock full of great looking, attention-getting features. By that reckoning, your only real competition is yourself. A nice problem to have, yes?

Funny you mentioned that. I saw a 911 in our area with its big ol' rotors and hot red calipers. Damn it was hot.

Looks great. Get the new Center Caps though for those wheels, best $20 bucks you can spend right now! They really complete the wheel. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13625
