lost one valve cap, Tire Low warning

This morning when I start my car, I got the Tire Low warning. Went to check all tires (visually coz I lost the gauge long time ago), all seems fine. Then I found out the front passenger side tire valve cap is missing. Could loosing a valve cap throw the Tire Low warning? The one I've is the OEM valve cap, they look weird for valve cap, is it a sensor? I thought the 1er TPMS is inside the tire.

thanks

Decent stem caps typically have an o-ring to help keep the air in since the valves in the stems aren't perfect.....eh, OK, just went and looked, ours do too. That probably explains it.

Those metal caps will eventually rust to the valves. That's why BMW uses plastic. I've seen it happen. Needing a pair of vice grips to check someone's tires isn't fun.

Thanks for the replies. I just got home and got a gauge, checked out all the tires, they're all at 33psi. Just did a reset. gonna go drive around a bit and see if it comes back.

I think I'm gonna replace them with those with BMW Roundel caps. I live in SoCal, we don't even know what raining is, and we sure won't get any salt on the road
