Bring the car back. I know exactly what you are going through, hang in there they will fix the car. I had the same problem, car was given a new fuel pump and on the way home engine malfunction light went on and car shaked at all gears. If you restart the engine I think the computer reset itself and everything is good.

My personal conjecture is they probably flashed your ecu and it takes two or more restart for the car to reclimate itself. It is really weird, everytime they update my ecu with new firmware the car would behave oddly during the first startup (i.e. my power window loses autodown capability but comes back after the 2nd start.) Bring the car back and they will probably do a hard reset with battery disconnect.

They probably forgot to reconnect something after the pump install. I bet it'll be fine now. Sorry for your troubles.

Make sure it's all on paper. You don't want to pay for mistakes dealer make.

they will never admit responsability.....all they do is tell you what problem was and it has been corrected.

Pointing the finger does not help anyway.....be kind and they'll be kind to you if not they'll give the run-around next time you are there.
