Steering sensor problem??

:iono:I just bought my brand new 135i and hadn't even left the parking lot when a warning light with a upside-down triangle and a "!" appeared on the cluster. WTF?? I went into get the salesman and a tech and a tech. They both agreed that it was probably "just a steering sensor error" and it would go away once I started driveng. It did until the next morning. Then it stayed on for the rest of the day until it again went out later. Also when it's on, the blinkers won't shut off on their own (guess the steering angle sensor let's them know when to go off). Back to the dealer and they determine that the steering angle sensor is bad. Bad, this is not a used car. It's brand new. WTF? So now it's going to take 10+ days to get the part from Germany (no-one in the US is stocking this part and it is "keyed" to the VIN so you can't swap it from another car). Man, I hope this is really the problem.

Anyone ever had a problem with their steering angle sensor?:iono:

No, I don't.. I think this sensor has something to do with DTC.

Are you hitting the DTC button for any reason?

No, like I said, I've only driven it twice and the dealer diagnostics found that the sensor is in fact bad. Just surprised that this happened before I even left the parking lot.
