Rennline Pedals

Has anyone tried these pedals on their 1er yet? They looks very nice and complement my Coral Red interior!
http://www.rennline.com/products.asp?dept=702

They have it for the 3-series, do 3-series pedals (especially the dead pedal) fit in the 1 series?

Thanks

Edit: I got a reply from them, they're doing a test fit for the 1er tomorrow. I'll update this thread when I get an update from them.

Just got a confirmation from Rennline, the 3series pedals will work for the 1series as well, here's the link:
https://www.rennline.com/prodinfo.asp?number=P71%2E60%2E58

The standard pedal is $220
they've a 15% coupon code: 1225

The heal toe extension is $45 for both top and bottom piece.
And they even have a raiser plate (another extra $45) to make the gas pedal the same level as the brake for easier heal toe.

the whole set after discount is $263.50... kinda steep for a pedal set... but it probably around the same price for a custom made set from Ultimate Pedals, which I'm having a tough time deciding which to get...

Yes. They sent me the installation guide. It's very similar to performance pedal install, but the Rennline mounting holes for the dead pedal is different than the performance pedal, I think installing would go much easier.

the UPS guy delivered these at 7pm today, didn't have time to do the install, so some teaser pic for now. Hopefully I can install them tomorrow.

The last one is trying to show the raiser plate adjusted to the max height. Not the best angel, but it make the gas pedal around 5mm lower than the brake.

Seems like no one care for this pedal set... but anyways, just to report back. The install is All Done and I like the look, much better than stock. The design is pretty awesome, especially the lifter plate, very easy to adjust.
Didn't get a chance to drive it for long. But it's much much easier to heel toe now, even at low speed.

^^^They really do look good. I already have a set of Ultimate Pedals at the house waiting for me, but if I had seen these sooner I might have changed my mind.

I've been driving with this pedal for 2 days before I found out there's a self tapping screw sticking out at the top.. and it's hitting the plastic assembly below. I've uninstalled the gas pedal and emailed Rennline for help.

This is quite dangerous... if I step on the gas hard enough, it might get stuck........:eyebulge:

I think it'd be fine if I have NOT use the lifter plate. Since the lifter plate is very thin, and it's install directly onto the OEM pedal, the screw sticks out. If I op not to use the lifter plate, the gas pedal itself is thick enough and I won't have this problem. However, in order to install the lifter plate I've to drill 3 bigger holes for it to "sink" in now I've no where to mount the gas pedal.

I might have to go look in Home Depot for a shorter screw, but I hope Rennline will fix this///

That sucks about the screw being too long. I would hope they will take care of it for you.

Also, I noticed in the pictures above that where you do screw it in there isn't a rubber nub on top of it. Does it come with some to cover up the screws or not?

Really? If you truly want them, I'll be in Germany this summer doing Euro Delivery, I can bring you a set (and ship it out via Deutsche Post).

As to the sticking screw, once the self-tapping function has been performed, just take a pair of solid snips and cut off the pointy end. I've had to do this with my Ultimate Pedal gas pedal too, no biggie...

why would pedal be illegal? you can't mod anything in Germany?

I don't know what kind of material that screw is made of, but it's freaking tough! I've tried cutting it with a pair of wire cutter I got, but all I could do is nick it a bit. I'm borrowing a dremel from a friend and see if I can get a cutting wheel to it. It's a very tight fit in there.

I got an email back from Rennline and they're gonna try to find a shorter screw for me. The original one is 5/8" long, I think a 7/16" will be the perfect length.

I think it has to be TUV-approved, and that's hard to get.

Dremel will cut through it, no problem - I'd advise you to use a masonry cutting wheel, they're tougher.

Or just take the offending screw to your hardware store and they'll get you one of the correct length.

^^^Naw.....it does not have to be TUV approved for pedals, gear knobs, etc...Only engine/exhaust mods, suspension, wheels...things that could effect the safety/emissions of the car....I think he was talking about the importation steuer and availability....

Ultimate Pedal will do heal toe extension as well, if that's the kinda look you're going for.
