Who drives their Z4 year round?
Just trying to get an idea....
I'm looking to mount winter tires on the m coupe, so just wanted to get the info from those that drive year round/in winter snow with their z what tires have been proven the best. From my search, seems like the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 are the way to go....

I have the Goodyear Ultra Grips on my car. They are an ok tire. Great on the dry pavement, I can still push the car pretty hard. They are avearage on the snow though. Since most of the winter here the ground is clear they work for me. My mom ordered the Dunlops for her car. I must say that the Dunlops have a lot of grip on the snow and ice. I can not comment on dry pavement though.

Just curious about daily drivers/ driving through winter months in areas that know what winter means, i.e. experiences some snow/sleet

i use my car in the winter and its alright. You really need dedicated snow tires but then the traction control is really helpful and will keep you in a straightline so its pretty safe.

I do not drive mine in the winter but I have seen a Z4M Roaster around in the winter. He uses the OEM winter package according to my understanding. He does not take it out when there is lots of accumulation of snow.

I drive mine year round, Dunlop Wintersport M3's for the winter. I also normally turn the DSC *OFF* in the winter- it's very intruisive and makes it hard to drive.
Personally I view as "just a car" and to park this car (or any car) for 5~ months out of the year seems like an absolute waste to me. I suppose I'd make an exception for a Ferrari or something.

Up here is Wisconsin once salt season begins it's time to park her, they throw salt down for any precipitation and you can never seem to get all the salt off... The roads just turn to thin salt cakes.
Also the lack of any undercoating on the car is another reason not to want to drive it in the winter. Just really don’t want to assist in the corrosion process.

Year-round. Although winters are not tough here in SoCal, I do take pride in my personal record of driving with the top down at 33 degrees OAT. Have also driven with the top down in steady rain - it's do-able as long as you maintain freeway speed!
Haven't driven Z4MR in snow.

Hey, I did the same thing last year, and mine was brand new. But this winter, the roads are the worst I've ever seen in Chicago. The Z4M only has 4" or so of ground clearance and when the potholes are 6" deep or more, you're banging the front end along the street pretty badly. If it weren't for that, I'd put on the snow tires and rock on. And if I still lived in Lexington, Ky, there'd be no question.

I have Dunlop M3 Snows on for second year. I drive every day and am headed out today with 8 plus inches on the ground. DSC off and just take it easy. Have a new set of Falken Azenis RT 615 on CSL wheels sitting in the garage waiting for Spring! I am getting the itch after watching 24hrs. of Daytona.

Accume has now gone to 12 inches here in Indy. Have used the snowblower 3 times since last evening. Will make futile attempt to get to the office.

So, Dunlop Wintersport M3 for winter wheels.....guess it might be time to buy some other wheels too then and keep the stock ones as winter ones!

This is my first winter in the Z4 coupe (3.0si) and I'm still running the OEM RFTs. My commute is only about 3 or 4 miles, one way, though, so I can always take public T.
Plus, winter in Richmond, VA can be pretty moderate, with relatively few bad driving days due to ice or snow. FWIW, in the past, I drove a Z3 roadster and Audi TT year-round with no problems.
