Which Shadow Emblem?
I got a Black Sapphire coupe and im gonna throw on a shadow emblem rather than debadge the car since i like sporting 135i on the rear so don't suggest "just debadge it" cause i already made up my mind. And if i do choose to debadge it later on, i can. I have shadowline trim and BMW performance grills and those are high gloss, I don't want too much "high gloss black" cosmetics on the car so I was wondering what style would look better, Matte or High Gloss Black? Here's a couple pics from some 3 series...

Hmmm. The gloss black might look really nice on my AW car. Where did you see those for sale?
For your car, they'll blend in too much, if you get the gloss. I would think the matte finish would look better on BSM. |

yea they're still on backorder..I placed my order almost a month ago and got high gloss black. everytime I call they say, "we're expecting them anytime now" I don't mind the wait. since it still might be a while I was debating on which ones would look better on BSM. All your opinions are helpful, the quicker the better so I can change my order

Whatever you go with, please put the numbers on straight and correctly. I cringe looking at some of those emblems that are so obviously just slapped on without regard to keeping everything aligned. The 335i with the Mississippi plates looks just awful.

I did...I stated my preference rather than recommend you shave yours. If you really want to change it I like the high gloss black!

They are gloss and match the shadowline trim exactly. Since I have the sport package and have the BMW shadowline grills, I figured the badges would complete the look. They also look good with the black top and black interior.
Before I took the original numbers off, I put a piece of painters tape along the top and along the bottom before I took them off. Then I marked on the tape the position of each number. That way when I put the new ones on they were straight and in exactly the same position as the old ones. Good thing too as the 'i' is further away than the numbers. If I was eyeballing it I would have put them all the same distance apart which would have been wrong. |

Floss works great and some goo gone. I didn't need any heat applied. before you take an of the lettering off, use some masking tape and place it on the bottom of the letters so that you have straight line to work with the new letters. Hope that makes sense.
