LCI, isn't that the moniker for 09+ models, if not, beg your pardon

from like 40 to well over 100, and he had issues keeping up after that

Maybe he didn't want to push it because hes car is new and haven't been broken into yet. Anyhow there is still a possibility you can kill him .... Maybe he is a bad driver ?

That would be encouraging since I have your same basic setup minus 2 key ingredients: Headers and software. Might have to see about those 2 items for spring

2008 BMW M3  [0.00]
It's possible. The M3s now weigh close to 4k pounds and they keep getting fatter and fatter each generation, while the Z4 has stayed in the 3200 lb range, plus with gearing and other simple mods ....

Thumbs up

It's definitley possible...a stock m3 traps 112-14 and z4m traps about 107-8 in the quarter....you can definitely pick up 5+ mph with your mods especially at those speeds. off topic but do you think your gears was the best mod or the tune?

Maybe the M3 was in a high gear to start and the lazy bastard kept it that way...

Hey guys... I want to put 3.91 in mine, however, 4.10 sounds fun. What RPM are you at when you're on the freeway / doing 80mph ????

im sure it will be a little higher...im assuming you are worrying about mpg..i dont think it will be a big difference, but it will be different

id say 1-2mpg peak loss

Hahahaha... ON IT ! 3500 with a 4.10 huh ? Not so bad.... I was thinking it would be closer to 4. Maybe I will get a 4.10

Not so worried about gas mileage, just that I drive to work down the freeway and I think that if I was tapping 4K plus RPM everyday on the way in that it would get a little old...

try it with headers, cruising gets old. thats why i modulate between double and tripple digits. that never gets old

4.10 FTW. The gears make the car rip. Did any of you guys notice your traction control cannot keep up as well with gears. I notice more here in Chicago b/c of the snow. This phenomenon is a huge plus btw. Now I have the option to turn it off or leave it on and get more wheelspin/tailout driving than before...not too much but definitely more.

Yeah, that's the plan... 4.10 ( I was thinking about a Quiafe LSD as well, but I don't know how much better that would be than the stock diff, haven't studied it enough yet ) with a SS Step Header and Connecting pipe ( sec cat delete in the process ) intake ( Gruppe M or the holy grail CSL if a miracle happens ) and ESS Software.

= FUN

I remember tintboy saying his boy has a c5 z06 and he was able to stay with him and sometimes pull on him. He has the same set up as you if i remember correctly.

Sounds like plan. Be sure to check out polished BMW motorsports 4.10. That is what I have and love it.
