i mean the kidney grill is the signature for bmw, i don't see a reason to hide it..glossy or not. just don't look as agressive and complete with it hidden in black it'd look nice on other color though, like on AW or Blues

In case you want some real pics, here is the difference on my Jet Black car.
I love the all-black look, and have no desire to go back. It's even better after getting the windows tinted. |

That could be my car before I put on the new wheels! The "black on black" looks much better in person. Most digital cameras don't provide enough low level contrast to differentiate shades of dark gray/black, so it comes off looking like there's nothing there. In person you see the highlights, details like the radiator in the shadows, etc.

I'm going to run the chrome grill frames and the shadow line grills (sorta like the 128i) on my Jet Black. I'll post up pics when they're on. Try PSing that maybe......

Glad to help. Also, davemohan is right about it looking a lot better in person. You get less of a "black hole" effect, except maybe at night when it looks evil. I have some after-tint pics here which includes some in better light and at night.
BTW dave, what wheels do you have? I was thinking of getting some black Breyton GTS-Rs with the red stripe removed, but the winter tire purchase pushed that plan back. |

I like the black grills personally, but it's YOUR car so ultimately you decide.
I jacked these from the Official Black e82 thread posted and credited to HAROLD. |

If I had a black car then i would go for the black grill. Makes it more aggressive. I have a TiAG car and I like the way the grill blends into the car as a black grill would with a black car.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...37#post4409237 I had a few "practical" considerations. The Breytons should look great. edit: for some reason this link is taking my browser to post #23 in the thread, just go back to post #22, the last one on page 1. Last edited by davemohan; 02-13-2009 at 06:57 PM.. Reason: link doesn't seem to quite work. |
