z4m vs e93 335 proceed 3

My car..
Z4M R
~RPI intake
~muffler delete
~255/35/18...=3.82 rear diff ratio
*75 shot nitrous

His...
e93 335i man
~vishnu ver 3, 100 oct tune, dynoed at 390rwhp
~rpi intake
~dyno glory intake
~i forgot which exh

We have been running each other since we were stock vs stock where I had 5 cars on him every time. He then got the SSTT tune and he was only behind 1.5 cars vs me (stock)...

z4m w/just RPI scoop ran him with ver3 tune and oem exhaust on 91 oct and I was behind by 1.5 cars with no more pulling on the top end

z4m with everything listed up top minus nitrous vs. him with everything on 100oct tune from 60-speed limiter.....2.5 cars....I guess the muffler delete didn't sacrifice any top end

z4m on 75 shot vs him on everthing gave me 2 cars by 100 from 60 and still pulling

just my objective observation

me and him have been going at it for month and sometimes he would be alittle shy about telling the truth on his mods, but I have my ways of getting my information....like e90post as he is a supporting vendor

if I can only find an e90 m3....

You rang? Well, I have had about 2yrs behind the wheel of my Mcoupe and 6mos with my e90 M3 now. Stock for stock the M3 is faster, obviously. In fact 0-150 we are talking over 8 sec. 0-60 or even 80mph would be very close. However, I bet the nitrous in your car will make your car alot faster, is it enough to make up that difference? Dunno? I would use it sparingly if you like your S54. Are we talking a rolling start or off the line and to what speed/distance? I am guessing you are a better driver than your friend also with that many car legnths(2 car legnths from 60-100)

where are you located? Didnt say i was faster just want to see where I am with one....stock for stock my ride does a 108 in trap vs your 114 if your manual...enough talk, PM me. I would love to run a e90 m3!!! As long as you let me run on the bottle

If you think a 75 shot is going to hurt the s54 you are mistaken sir...iron block makes for a perfect platform that's good for a 250 shot and as you already know 600+ reliable HP on FI

i am on the more positive side about winning a m3 especially a manual one. Not very sure about nitrous though.

I would think that modded 335 is already faster than the new M3? Maybe I give too much credit to those twin turbo 6s. They (chipped 335s) go fast and then break from what I have read.

The N54, modded or not, looses substantial power in the upper rpm region. When driving hard, you're never in the ideal power range with the N54. This is one reason why the N54 can show significant peak power gains while still not translating to "as" significant changes in et times. Where it does make a good difference is when you are in 4th gear or higher, and at lower rpms, and stomp on the gas. It accelerates well in that circumstance as you're more in the optimum rpm range for power. Therefore IMO, it's a motor for a lazy enthusiast (ie, someone who drives for near optimum fuel economy but still appreciates a little kick in the pants without having to downshift first). Personally I drive in probably a gear lower than the average operator so I'm always in a gear to maximize acceleration.

i am not a big fan of the N54 but despite that fact there are lots of moded 335s that will simply walk a m3 in a straightline but of course with that kinda of power their turbos are gonna die pretty soon. N54 will me more exciting though when the aftermarket turbos come out.

This sums up why I don't really care for the n54 so much. The power band feels exactly like my 350z, happy on the streets and stressed on the track. The engine feels good when you push it only up to 80%.

are you serious about meeting though? As I would love to see the difference at least in a straight line w/o the bottle. I'm sure I can get my buddy out with his 335i.

Thanks for the invite but I am in NorCal and not really into street racing with fellow members. Besides the V335i would probabally beat me and if you are killing him, well that means you would beat me too. I was planning a thread with some various times with my cars but here is my best ever time with the Mcoupe(has to be a perfect launch), this is not typical. I am far more likely to get 0-60 in like 5, 1/4 mile in about 14!

Yup, I was skeptical at first, but it has been tested at the track and proven to be quite accurate for the money. But like Burt said, it is impossible to use on public roads with traffic around.

I sometimes consider trading up for new m3 but then i will always quit thinking once i drive my M. The E92 M3 is just too refined to be super exciting. I know my car has a harsh ride and only two seat and trunk space that can barely fit a golf bag and the stupid 3.0si tranny that is not suppose to be put into our cars in the first place, but the car is just so raw and simple ...
