Talking How great is the Mcoupe??!!!

My 2007 Mcoupe has been garaged during this most harsh and snowy winter. I was able to actually drive it for the first time in two months on Sunday and it was fantastic. It was like falling in love all over again. It sounds so good, feels so good, looks so good...and it started and ran great after sitting still in a cold, unheated garage. What a great car. There's really no purpose to this post other than to point out that I had taken it for granted or forgotten its greatness only to fall in love all over again after the long absence. That's what great cars can do...

Same for me. Had to re-learn shifting method in low gears in the MC after driving the '08 Miata 6 spd manual for the last several weeks.
Very different clutch and shifter feel. A mouse could work the Miata, It takes "authority" in the MC.
Took it out to some rural roads and opened it up to 7500 rpm, wow what sound and thrust. So smooth and solid even at triple digits.

I have to start planning a good long road trip for the summer, and put some real mileage on it.

This winter is the first time I've driven my car "in the snow". And it's absolutely fantastic in the snow as well (with winter tires). I was worried about grip and sliding, but the only thing I really need to worry about is ground clearance.

And other drivers. You have bigger balls than me. I'm renting a X3 monthly to get me to Spring. As long as it sits in the garage I don't have to worry about some idiot running into it. It also is there to keep my MV Agusta company.

In early April the local M club has a tour set up at the M factory and Welt. Sponsored by Pentagon Car Sales. It's a Friday tour. They're setting up rooms at some Munich hotel for the night prior as those traveling from Kaiserslautern need the extra day.

I've owned my 3.0si for a month now and I still haven't driven it (other than the test drive). Another couple of weeks and we'll be through with the ice and snow. Can't wait.

A couple weeks...man I hope you are right. I bet I cannnot take my snow tires off until mid April. Is Charleston, IL that much different than Chicago for snow?

Other than a few US spec M Coupes and 1 roadster running around here (we have a high concentration of US spec BMWs in the area), I've yet to see another in the area. I have seen a few at Nurburgring and I see a couple of regular Z4 Coupes here and there. But yes, they are rare to see. If I was not around any US military bases nor Nurburgring, I'd say I'd very rarely see one if at all.

Definitely. Sometimes we get nothing and an hour north in Champaign, where I work, there will be several inches. But other times, like the last storm and the one coming this weekend, we end up with more snow. Still, much less snow than Chicagoland. We might get one or two storms a year with more than and inch or two. I've been here 7 years now and we've had snow as late as April 1st, but it didn't add up to anything on the ground. Usually by March you're safe to bag the snow tires.

I've had to drive it alot as I inprocessed. Now that I'm working, it's going to sit in my parking spot unless I have to go somewhere on the weekends etc. Luckily I'm about a 10 minute walk to work now

I'll be interested in the M Tour in April, are you gonna be around for that or are you heading back to the states before it happens?

I've actually seen more Z4M's on the road and parked around here (Heidelberg) than anywhere else I've lived. Boston was a close second, but I've seen a few other M Coupes, and a few Z4 3.0si coupes here in less than a month, which is very abnormally high.

Ive actually only ever seen 2 M Roadsters in the wild around me,
One black (before I bought mine) and one Imola,

I have seen about 5 M Coupes,
Weird how I see more coupes,

But regular Z4's the complete opposite, I think only 1 Z4 Coupe and about 8-10 Z4 Roadsters,

Even the non M's are quite rare to see on the road
Makes a change from the ton of 3 and 5 Series I see day to day,
Don't get me wrong I love my 3 Series too, Its a stunning car and beautiful to drive,
But its night and day when compared to a Z4 in any guise

Likewise, I think that would be one of the hottest shoots of anything metal I can think of

We could even do a wife swap, I'll take Emma out for a good night on the town and you can take my little girl for a spin,
Love Red Heads!
