Heating Controls
The heating controls since day one have not worked properly and I have had it replaced twice. The second time the A/C button would go off everytime i turned the car off. I would have to turn it on everytime I started the car. Now it stays on regardless after being replaced the last time. I just noticed that when I press the defrost heater control button (not the rear defrost) that when I turn the car off and then turn it back on a little later that it goes back to Auto mode. Is this normal or do I have to take her back to the dealer again.

Perhaps it's the car/key memory settings that the dealer needs to change?
Just a thought. If I remember correctly, other BMW models can remember the heating settings based on which key is used. Not sure about the Z4. If you are talking about the defrost button on the inside of the knob to direct the airflow, I think that might always shut off and go back to auto when you turn the car off - might not be anything broken. Maybe someone else can verify that. |
