what do you think of this deal? unsold 07
hi guys,
about to buy an unsold 2007 in another state. car has the basics, prem pkg, htd seats, nav. black saphire ext stiker is $57,500 or so and has about 105 miles on the car. after a little haggling i can get the car for $37,500. it didnt take much to get him down to 40; so i wonder if i am gonna make a good buy. these cars never sold well at the dealers, so i think this is a fair price for one these days, especially with the economy. what do you think? i am in no major rush to buy, so what do you guys think. i remember reading about epbrown getting this kind of deal in 07, 07 m coupe for 37k, so i wonder if there is anymore room. |

I got similar deal 3 months ago. Only difference mine had 3700miles on it, but it has extendend maintanance. I paid 37k. So let say my extended maintanance cancels out your lower miles. I'd say you should get a little better deal since the economy looks a little worse these days. But, even if you can get it for 37k, that's still hell of a deal.

Yeah, epbrown certainly got about the best deal of anyone at the time. An M roadster with about 1500 mi on it just changed hands at a local CarMax for about 32k, tho it may have been an 06. But a new titled car for anywhere in the mid 30's is a good deal. The warranty has probably already been punched on that one so you may only have about 3 yrs on it instead of 4 - might be worth asking if they can CPO the car (or equivalent) to get an extra couple years of warranty on it as an alternative negotiating point.

Sounds like a good deal to me, although since the '09's are out I'd try to haggle a bit more since you're "settling" for the old bodystyle.

Just my thoughts, but if its been at the dealer for over a year and a half, you can be guarenteed it has been ragged on and not had a proper break-in. Use that as ammo for getting a better service plan, etc. And don't take the B.S. response of "the cars are made to be driven hard, plus we have you covered for next X number of maintences." Your respose to that should be "so you are admitting its been ran hard, and I plan to keep this car for long time, which not following proper break-in has shown causes problems down the road.... so take another $5k off!" or something along those lines.
For reference, I got a '07 M Coupe, w/ extended leather and nav, 6.5k miles, for 37000 last september. |

Do it. If it's a coupe, I think I know the car you're talking about. I almost got it, but they wouldn't budge much on pricing back in August.
For comparison – I got my Z4MC in August '08, with 4.5k on the clock for $38.5k
