Trade aluminum dash for wood anyone ??
I'd like to swap in the aluminum dash and console trim in my coupe. I have the Dream red M seats and feel I'll like it more .
Anyone interested in trading your alum. for my wood trim ?? CHeers,Vinny |

the silver would definitely go with the imola seat, even the carbon...never really been a fan of the wood with any interior color
good luck with your search |

I would do the wood over the alum trim, that is some tinny, easy-dented crap BMW put in these cars.

Hmm... I was just about to swap my dark poplar for brushed aluminum. But the reason is because the center console has a couple of minor stress cracks (being replaced under warranty).
I also have black/dream red M-seat combo... and the wood has always bothered me a bit... it doesn't quite go with the red leather and other aluminum accents. Then again, my Zed is Jet black, so going to aluminum would more unify the materials/color palette. I was also considering ordering Piano Black, but that might make my coupe's cockpit seem a bit too dark. When I get my console replaced under warranty, I'll ask what they will do with the set they remove... maybe I can get my mits on it. If they give it to me for nuthin' I'd be happy to do the same for you (minus shipping). By the way, I have the Sport Package, too, so there is the sport button on the center console.

I hate the way the wood trim looks with my tan interior. To bad you aren't closer to Seattle.

Have you dented yours ?? If not ...I'd like to speak with you about swapping. I have red M seats and although the wood is pretty...its just not my thing really. Let me know. Cheers,Vinny |

No, sorry, I have he black carbon interior, but my 355i has the aluminum trim, very tinny stuff, you basically have to baby the interior, especially the center console. With the wood, you can remove it, polish it like paint and it comes out brilliant and shiny. Not much I can do for the aluminum trim except to purchase replacement pieces.

weird, i sold my wood to get alum too. thought the wood clashed with the silver door handles and red interior.

Oops, I obviously didn't read the original post closely enough... I thought you were looking to swap your aluminum dash for wood. My bad. I'm definitely going for the warranty swap to aluminum.
By the way, there are a slew of options. I can't recall the address, but there is a Web site that shows all of them, including custom options and thing we didn't get here in the states. Cheers.

1st place is the most noticeable is around the radio someone tried to get the vent out with a screwdriver, n it was not me and it was on the car before i bought it. two small dots on top of the radio is al they are. 2nd place in by the arm rest, old owner must of worn his/her watch on the right arm cau you can see a few minor scratches. maybe it was a jacket or shirt button that did the deed even, i'm not sure but again they are not that bad. i am super anal about the condition of my interior, once i swap the pieces out for my carbon fiber i will give them a more detailed look. hopefully i will have the carbon installed in two weeks though. |
